30 Years on the Ladder, Now Sharing the View.
Hi, I’m David.
For over three decades, I owned and operated a contracting business. I’ve spent more hours than I can count on rooftops, hanging gutters in the Tennessee humidity, and fixing the “quick fixes” that eventually failed. I’ve seen firsthand how a $10 gutter problem can turn into a $10,000 foundation nightmare.
When I retired, I realized that while the pros know the secrets to a perfect pitch and a leak-proof seal, the average homeowner is often left guessing—or worse, buying products that don’t actually work.
Why I Started Guttering.com
I created the Triple Crown of guttering resources (guttering.com, .net, and .org) to bridge the gap between “DIY” and “Professional Grade.”
My goal is simple: To give you the honest, unfiltered truth about home drainage. On this site, you won’t find “fluff” or fake reviews. You’ll find:
- Contractor-Tested Reviews: I only recommend gutter guards and tools I’d actually use on a client’s home.
- Real DIY Guides: Step-by-step instructions that include the “pro-tips” the manuals leave out.
- Foundation Protection: Advice focused on the why—keeping your home dry and your investment safe.
Beyond the Gutters
When I’m not talking about water diversion, you’ll find me tinkering with my VISTA-20P home security setup (another DIY passion of mine) or hanging out with my grandsons.
I’m a “Mac-only” guy who loves a good technical challenge, whether it’s modernizing an analog security panel or building a digital resource for homeowners like you.
Let’s Talk Shop
Since I’m usually either in the shop or documenting a new system for the VISTA-20P series, I don’t keep a dedicated “Customer Service” desk. However, I’m always interested in hearing from fellow business owners or DIY enthusiasts who are serious about their projects.
